A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO WELCOME GENERAC POWER SYSTEMS TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA BUSINESS COMMUNITY; TO CONGRATULATE THE COMPANY ON THE GRAND OPENING OF ITS EDGEFIELD COUNTY FACILITY, TO BE HELD OCTOBER 21, 2021; AND TO EXTEND BEST WISHES FOR MUCH SUCCESS IN THE YEARS TO COME.

Whereas, energy technology is critical to a modern society, and backup power is critical to health and safety. Moreover, energy technology supports every community and provides access to a more resilient State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, in June 2021, Generac Power Systems, Inc., a leading global power and energy technology company serving the residential, commercial, and industrial markets, announced plans to expand operations in Edgefield County and create three hundred new jobs. This new commitment adds to the company's earlier announcement this year and will bring Generac's collective total of new jobs in the State to seven hundred fifty; and

Whereas, founded in 1959, Generac is an industry leader that offers a broad range of power and energy solutions, including backup and prime power generator systems, engine-powered and battery-powered tools and equipment, and solar plus battery storage systems; and

Whereas, Generac's expansion will increase the company's capacity to meet growing demand for its home standby generators and associated energy technologies. The company's location in South Carolina already serves as a distribution center to customers in the Southeast; and

Whereas, as the largest energy technology designer and manufacturer with operations in South Carolina, Generac Power Systems has invested millions of dollars in Edgefield County. Located at 30 Generac Way in Trenton, the company supports Edgefield County citizens not only with jobs but also with philanthropic endeavors that improve quality of life in the area; and

Whereas, to celebrate its new manufacturing operations in Edgefield County, Generac will host a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 21, 2021; and

Whereas, cognizant of the significant contributions Generac Power Systems is making to the prosperity of the Palmetto State, particularly in Edgefield County, the members of the House are pleased to recognize those contributions and welcome Generac to our great State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, welcome Generac Power Systems to the South Carolina business community; congratulate the company on the grand opening of its Edgefield County facility, to be held October 21, 2021; and extend best wishes for much success in the years to come.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Generac Power Systems.
