A house RESOLUTION

 

to recognize and commend the CADEts and advisors of the Catawba Ridge High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and to congratulate them for their many accomplishments in the 2022-2023 school year.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the members of the Catawba Ridge High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) have had a successful and awarding school year; and

 

Whereas, in just the fourth year of existence, the Catawba Ridge NJROTC has accomplished levels of excellence that many NJROTC programs never have, including having garnered three consecutive academic, athletic, and drill championships in Area 6 which includes North and South Carolina, a feat that no other Area 6 NJROTC program has ever accomplished; and

 

Whereas, under the direction of Major Shawn Studley, United States Marine Corps, and Senior Chief Vincent Luppino, United States Navy, the Catawba Ridge NJROTC unit of cadets was named the twelfth best Navy JROTC unit in the nation; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives values the pride and recognition that the Catawba Ridge NJROTC cadets have brought to their school and to their community, and the members look forward to following their continued accomplishments in the days ahead.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the cadets and advisors of the Catawba Ridge High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and congratulate them for their many accomplishments in the 2022-2023 school year.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Major Shawn Studley, United States Marine Corps.
