A house RESOLUTION
TO recognize and honor King George, a rising force in blues music and to welcome him to Myrtle Beach to perform in live concert with Money Train.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that King George, a rising blues musician, and Money Train will perform in Myrtle Beach at the South Carolina House of Blues on Sunday, May 25, 2025; and
Whereas, as a young boy, King George was immersed in the rich musical heritage of the Mississippi Delta where he was born and reared. He is now based in Hopkins, South Carolina; and
Whereas, with a passion for storytelling and a sound that resonates deep within the soul, King George has established himself as a formidable presence in the blues genre. Drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of soul and blues music, King George's style is a blend of heartfelt lyrics, captivating melodies, and a raw, authentic energy that enthralls audiences everywhere; and
Whereas, his journey through the music industry has been nothing short of remarkable. Over the years, he has garnered numerous accolades that highlight his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft. In 2025, he was honored with the Soul Music Awards for Best Male Artist and for Song of the Year, solidifying his status as a leading figure in contemporary blues. His earlier achievements include the Jackson Music Awards for Best Recording by a Single Artist in 2024 and being recognized as Male Artist of the Year at the AMG Southern Life Awards; and
Whereas, King George's discography showcases his versatility as an artist. With tracks like "Keep on Rollin," "It's Over," "Can't Stay Too Long," "Lil Weight," "Friday Night," "Leave," and "Party," he captures the essence of life, love, and the spirit of the South. Each song tells a story, inviting listeners to join him on an emotional journey filled with joy, heartache, and everything in between; and
Whereas, he is focused on his latest projects to craft new sounds and experiences for his dedicated fanbase. With a commitment to authenticity and a desire to connect with his audience, he continues to push the boundaries of blues music while honoring its rich heritage; and
Whereas, as King George moves forward in his career, he remains steadfast in his mission to bring people together through music and to inspire others to embrace their own stories. With each performance, he leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of his listeners, making him one of the most exciting and influential artists in the blues scene today; and
Whereas, fans are looking forward to experiencing his soulful blues music in concert in Myrtle Beach. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor King George, a rising force in blues music, and welcome him to Myrtle Beach to perform in live concert with Money Train.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to King George.
