A house RESOLUTION

 

To Recognize and Honor Deacon Willie E. Snipes of mt. zion missionary baptist church in fort motte, for his many years of faithful ministry, and to extend to him best wishes for God's richest blessings as he continues to serve the lord and his community.

 

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives honors Deacon Willie E. Snipes for his service to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church; and

 

Whereas, Deacon Willie Snipes is the son of the late Deacon Joseph Snipes of St. Matthews, South Carolina. He married the former Margie Larrymore, a union that was blessed with two wonderful children, Rashad and Quintin Snipes. The family now includes two lovely grandchildren, Raegan and Elijah Snipes; and

 

Whereas, upon graduating from John Ford High School, Deacon Snipes was drafted into the United States Army in 1968, where he served in the Vietnam War. He has spent his life serving his community as the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Association treasurer, as chairman of the Calhoun County Transportation Committee, and as a member of the Ways and Means Committee at the Progressive Union; and

 

Whereas, as a loving and faithful servant, his favorite Bible verse is Psalm 121, and his favorite hymn is "Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah"; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is grateful for Deacon Willie E. Snipes' meaningful contributions to his church, his community, and to our great Palmetto State. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Deacon Willie E. Snipes of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Motte, for his many years of faithful ministry, and extend to him best wishes for God's richest blessings as he continues to serve the Lord and his community.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Deacon Willie E. Snipes.
