A house RESOLUTION
to recognize and honor the dutch Fork High school football team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and to congratulate them for winning the 2025 south carolina class aaaaa Division I state championship title.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that the Dutch Fork High School football team of Richland County captured the Class AAAAA Division I state title at the championship game held at South Carolina State University's Oliver C. Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg on Saturday, December 6, 2025; and
Whereas, to the delight of their loyal fans, the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes secured their tenth state championship with a decisive 40-20 victory over their rival, Summerville High School. This matchup served as a rematch of the previous year's title game and marked the team's fourth consecutive championship win; and
Whereas, Head Coach Tom Knotts is now tied for first in South Carolina history for the most state football championships by a head coach, sharing the record of ten titles with Woodruff's W.L. Varner and Summerville's John McKissick. Adding to the significance of this accomplishment, Coach Knotts achieved this victory with his son, Jaxon Knotts, serving as the team's quarterback. This championship further solidifies Dutch Fork's enduring legacy as a powerhouse in South Carolina high school football; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives deeply appreciate the pride, skill, and sportsmanship the Dutch Fork players, coaches, and school officials have brought to their school and community, and the members look forward to celebrating their continued success in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Dutch Fork High School football team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina Class AAAAA Division I State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Reed Gunter, Principal of Dutch Fork High School, and Coach Tom Knotts.
