Whereas, in game one, Pee Dee Academy scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to force extra innings and won it in the eighth in a 4-3 come-from-behind win; and

Whereas, the championship winning game on Wednesday was attributed to the amazing teamwork of the Lady Eagles. Addison Hasty led the team, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored, and one RBI (Runs Batted In). Azeleigh Arnette and Claire Eskridge both had two hits, including a home run. Arnette had two runs and two RBI and Eskridge had two RBI and a run. Maddie Coward had two hits, including a double, and an RBI. Katie Estes had two hits, two runs, and the game-winning RBI, and Carly Carroll had two hits, two runs, and an RBI. Coward also went the distance on the mound, scattering six hits while striking out five and walking none; and

Whereas, in a sport that demands agility and precision, Head Coach Will Eskridge and his talented coaching staff utilized their own experience and passion for the sport to mold a championship-caliber team. The lessons that they have taught these young athletes will continue to shape them on and off the field; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives value the pride and recognition that the Pee Dee softball team has brought to their school and community. They look forward to hearing of the teams continued achievements in the days to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
