A house RESOLUTION

To express the profound sorrow of the members of the south carolina house of representatives upon the passing of william rakin "keem" singleton of james island and to extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives pauses to recognize and honor the life, legacy, and homegoing of William Rakin Singleton and extend their deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones of Mr. Singleton, praying for comfort and peace for all who mourn; and

Whereas, William Rakin Singleton, a native of James Island, was born on June 16, 1982. He was the beloved son of William "Willie" Singleton and Marilyn Smalls Singleton; and

Whereas, affectionately known as "Keem," he will be remembered for his strong character, genuine kindness, his sheer love of being on the water, continuing a proud family tradition as a third-generation crabber, as well as his deep devotion to his family, friends, James Island, and the commercial fishing community; and

Whereas, Mr. Singleton was a respected entrepreneur and the proud owner of WRS Transportation, LLC and Singleton Seafoods, LLC, through which he demonstrated a steadfast work ethic and commitment to his community; and

Whereas, through his service and involvement with the commercial fishing community and area seafood markets, he touched many lives and left an enduring example of hard work and perseverance; and

Whereas, he is survived by his mother, Marilyn Singleton, and sister, Erin Singleton Smith. He will be deeply missed by his beloved family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him; and

Whereas, in sharing the sorrow of this bereavement, the members of the House extend their sincere condolences and join in celebrating a life well lived. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
