VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
A house RESOLUTION
to recognize and honor the Hammond School varsity competitive cheerleading team, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season and to congratulate them on winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association Class 4A State Championship title for the third consecutive year.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to hear that the Hammond School varsity competitive cheerleading team won the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association Class 4A State Championship, held at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School on November 8, 2025; and
Whereas, led by their talented team captains, Mary Garland Desai and Kaden Raymond, the Lady Skyhawks gave it their all with an impressive performance on the mat under the theme "Hammond Magic," surpassing all competition to capture the state title for the third consecutive year; and
Whereas, the Lady Skyhawks had an undefeated season for the third year in a row, scoring forty or more points at every competition this year; and
Whereas, the Hammond competitive cheer team is made up of twenty girls, ranging from seventh grade through twelfth grade; and
Whereas, Head Coach Saundra Guerard and her assistant coach, Mya Troyer, utilized their own experience and passion for the sport to mold a championship-caliber team. The lessons that they have taught these young athletes will continue to shape them on and off the mat; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives value the pride and recognition that the Hammond Lady Skyhawks have brought to their school and community. They look forward to following the team's future successes in the days to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Hammond School varsity competitive cheerleading team, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season and congratulate them on winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association Class 4A State Championship title for the third consecutive year.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Hammond School Head of School Andy North and Head Coach Saundra Guerard.
