Whereas, Joshua Prince, a senior at Fort Mill High School, has demonstrated exceptional dedication, discipline, and marksmanship skill; and
Whereas, in February 2026, Cadet Prince competed in the JROTC Marine Corps National Air Rifle Championship with elite marksmen from two hundred seventy Marine Corps JROTC programs in Sandy, Utah, and was one of eight competitors to advance to the final championship round. At the end of two grueling days of precision shooting and posting an outstanding aggregate score of 1,123-47, he earned the title of Marine Corps National Champion; and

Whereas, the All-Service National Championships featured 114 of the nation's top JROTC marksmen representing the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, each a champion within their respective branch; and
Whereas, throughout this exclusive competition, Joshua Prince distinguished himself through exceptional composure and precision, finishing first overall to claim the title of JROTC All-Service National Champion; and
Whereas, in achieving this distinction, he also set a new Marine Corps record, further highlighting the historic significance of his performance; and
Whereas, his accomplishment brings great pride and national recognition to Fort Mill High School, the Fort Mill community, and York County; and
Whereas, Joshua Prince's journey from cadet to Marine Corps JROTC National Champion to All-Service National Champion exemplifies the core values of perseverance, excellence, and commitment exemplified by Cadet Prince and fostered by JROTC programs nationwide. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
