A house RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE THE SUMMERTON ROTARY CLUB, CHARTERED ON JULY 17, 2006, FOR ITS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF CLARENDON COUNTY, UPON THE CLUB'S TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY, AND TO EXTEND THE SINCERE APPRECIATION of the South Carolina House of representatives FOR ITS CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO SERVICE ABOVE SELF.
Whereas, Rotary International, founded in 1905, is a global organization of business, professional, and community leaders devoted to humanitarian service, ethical leadership, and goodwill throughout the world; and
Whereas, the Summerton Rotary Club was officially chartered on July 17, 2006, becoming a valued part of the Clarendon County community and joining thousands of Rotary Clubs worldwide in advancing fellowship, civic engagement, and service; and
Whereas, since its founding twenty years ago, the Summerton Rotary Club has strengthened the Summerton and Lake Marion region through youth development programs, charitable initiatives, community improvement projects, and partnerships that uplift local residents, and has supported Clarendon County educators, breast cancer awareness education, the Clarendon Christian Learning Center, literacy in the schools, the Second Chance Animal Shelter, Boy Scouts of America, Camp Happy Days, K&H Resource Center, the Clarendon Pilot Club, the Optimist Club, the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce, United Ministries, and many more projects and organizations; and
Whereas, members of the Summerton Rotary Club have consistently demonstrated the rotary motto of "Service Above Self," by offering leadership, compassion, and dedication in addressing community needs and supporting global humanitarian efforts; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives deeply values organizations that promote civic responsibility, enhance community well-being, and inspire future generations of leaders; and
Whereas, the Summerton Rotary Club continues to embody these ideals through its ongoing programs and service projects that enrich Clarendon County and contribute to the betterment of the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulates the Summerton Rotary Club, chartered on July 17, 2006, for its dedicated service to the citizens of Clarendon County, upon the club's twentieth anniversary, and extend the sincere appreciation of the South Carolina House of Representatives for its continued commitment to service above self.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Summerton Rotary Club.
