A house RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE Reese Stoney, Miss Clarendon, AND TO COMMEND THE EXCEPTIONAL DISCIPLINE, ASPIRATIONS, AND TALENT THAT HAVE ENABLED HER TO REPRESENT Clarendon WITH DIGNITY AND POISE.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Reese Stoney, named Miss Clarendon on March 23, 2026, is serving as an excellent ambassador during her reign; and

Whereas, possessing both talent and intelligence, she competed and was crowned as Miss Clarendon; and

Whereas, she graduated from Berkeley Center for the Arts at Goose Creek High School in 2021 and earned a bachelor's degree in 2025 and a master's degree in 2026, both from Clemson University. She is currently enrolled in dental school at High Point University in North Carolina; and

Whereas, at the Miss South Carolina Pageant, Miss Stoney won the nonfinalist fitness award, which was awarded because she had the highest fitness score among all of the nonfinalist contestants; and

Whereas, she is grateful for the opportunity her title is giving her to advocate for dental care and education. In the short time that she has been Miss Clarendon, she has distributed over one thousand dental kits and has spread dental tips and education using her social media platforms for Miss Clarendon; and

Whereas, Miss Stoney has a goal to create a fundraiser for people who cannot afford their dental care, using the funds she raises to go toward paying for a lucky patient's care or procedure; and

Whereas, after completing her year of service as Miss Clarendon, Miss Stoney plans to continue the pursuit of her dream to become a dentist back home in order to serve her community because South Carolina has always been home to her; and

Whereas, during her reign, she will serve as a gracious and inspiring role model, embodying the qualities of intellect, talent, beauty, and charm that are admired by all who know her; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing such an outstanding young woman and representative of Clarendon as Reese Stoney, and the members wish her well as she continue to pursue her dreams in the years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Reese Stoney, Miss Clarendon, and commend the exceptional discipline, aspirations, and talent that have enabled her to represent Clarendon with dignity and poise.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Reese Stoney.
