A house RESOLUTION

to recognize and honor artists Usher Raymond and Chris Brown for their musical careers and to welcome them to Columbia and to the Palmetto State for their performance at WilLiams-Brice Stadium.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Usher and Chris Brown will co-headline The R&B Tour event on October 29, 2026, at Williams-Brice Stadium; and

Whereas, Usher and Chris Brown began a tour of stadiums across North America this summer with The R&B Tour, a massive run that kicked off Friday, June 26, at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver and will close on Friday, December 11, at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Scheduled stops include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, and Las Vegas; and

Whereas, both artists are celebrating recent record-breaking accomplishments: Usher's Past, Present, Future tour sold over 1.1 million tickets across sixty-two sold-out shows in North America and Europe, while Chris Brown's Breezy Bowl XX World Tour, which celebrated twenty years in music, became the highest-grossing tour ever by a solo Black American male artist, earning nearly three hundred million dollars and drawing two million fans worldwide; and

Whereas, The R&B Tour is partnering with Global Citizen by donating one dollar per ticket sold to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the success, talent, and charitable conscience of this amazing duo. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Usher Raymond and Chris Brown for their musical careers and welcome them to Columbia and to the Palmetto State for their performance at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Usher Raymond and Chris Brown.
