VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
A senate RESOLUTION
to recognize and honor the founder of Fresh Friends, Logan Wells, and to commend her and this organization for their significant impact on the communities they serve.
Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is delighted to learn that Fresh Friends is making a noteworthy impact on communities around the Midlands; and
Whereas, while a student at Heathwood Hall, Logan Wells wanted to encourage volunteerism, promote inclusivity, and foster friendship, so she started a school club called Fresh Friends with those goals; and
Whereas, Fresh Friends has maintained these goals and now has developed into a South Carolina nonprofit and a registered 501(c)3 organization that is open to all high schoolers in the State; and
Whereas, Fresh Friends had harnessed the connective powers of service with an emphasis on inclusivity and now challenges current forces that threaten to divide younger generations; and
Whereas, working together with local, statewide, and national organizations and nonprofits, Fresh Friends connects teen volunteers with service opportunities that impact their local communities; and
Whereas, Fresh Friends has partnered with the Downtown Church of Columbia, the Salvation Army, and local school districts in the Midlands; and
Whereas, planning to add more high schools to the existing network of schools with chapters of Fresh Friends, Ms. Logan seeks to ensure the organization's ability to connect a greater number of high schoolers across the State through community service; and
Whereas, the Senate is grateful for Ms. Logan's dedication to serving her community and beyond and applauds the organization for the immeasurable good it can have on communities in South Carolina, and the members wish Ms. Logan continued success in the days to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor the founder of Fresh Friends, Logan Wells, and commend her and this organization for their significant impact on the communities they serve.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Logan Wells.
