A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE cadet Joshua Prince FOR WINNING THE 2026 Marine corps and All-Service JROTC National Air Rifle ChampionshipS.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize Cadet Joshua Prince for winning the 2026 Marine Corps JROTC Air Rifle Championship in Sandy, Utah and the All-Service JROTC National Air Rifle Championship at Campy Perry, Ohio; and

 

Whereas, Cadet Prince, a student of Fort Mill High School, competed against elite marksmen from two hundred seventy Marine Corps JROTC programs at the Marine Corps JROTC National Air Rifle Championship in Sandy, Utah. The prestigious competition spanned two grueling days of precision shooting. Following the initial rounds, only the top eight competitors were selected to move into the final championship stage; and

 

Whereas, Cadet Prince entered the finals among the top eight and finished with an aggregate score of 1,123-47, handedly winning the national title. His victory not only earned him the title of Marine Corps National Champion but also qualified him for the All-Service National Air Rifle Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio; and

 

Whereas, the All-Service Nationals drew top qualifiers from across every JROTC branch, Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, making it the most competitive senior air rifle event in the country. Over the course of the two-day competition, Cadet Prince delivered the same composure and precision that had defined his performance in Utah; and

 

Whereas, in the championship stage, Cadet Prince finished first overall among one hundred fourteen of the nation's most elite senior marksmen with a performance marked by great composure and precision; and

 

Whereas, Cadet Prince also set a new Marine Corps record during the All-Service National Championship, which served as a remarkable footnote to an already historic performance; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that Cadet Prince has brought to his school and community and look forward to a future filled with his further accomplishments.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Cadet Joshua Prince for winning the 2026 Marine Corps and All-Service JROTC National Air Rifle Championships.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Cadet Joshua Prince and Principal Zachary D. Beam.
