A senate RESOLUTION
TO CONGRATULATE Henry Turner UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS many YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Henry Turner upon the occasion of his retirement from Altria Client Services LLC on April 30, 2026; and
Whereas, a native of Augusta, Georgia, Mr. Turner is an alumnus of the University of Georgia, where he earned a bachelor's degree in political science; and
Whereas, upon graduation from the University of Georgia, Mr. Turner served as the director of South Georgia operations for Senator Herman E. Talmadge. He then served as chief deputy clerk of court for the U.S. District Court Middle District of Georgia; and
Whereas, Mr. Turner served as a campaign manager for Congressman Richard Ray and Georgia campaign director for Senator Ernest F. Hollings' campaign for president in 1984; and
Whereas, Mr. Turner also worked for U.S. Sprint Communications in Atlanta as regional director of government affairs; and
Whereas, in 1989, Mr. Turner began his career with Philip Morris Companies, Inc., which later became Altria Group, Inc., where he served as vice president of state government affairs for Altria Client Services LLC; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Henry Turner has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Henry Turner upon the occasion of his retirement, commend him for his many years of dedicated service, and wish him much happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Henry Turner.
