A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR Brian Rudick for his many years of service and leadership as a Scouting of America scoutmaster.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Brian Rudick for his many years of service and leadership as a Scouting of America scoutmaster; and

 

Whereas, Scouting America's mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes and to enable them to become responsible, participating citizens and leaders; and

 

Whereas, the scoutmaster is the adult leader responsible for the image, program, and overall guidance of a troop. The many duties of a scoutmaster include training new leaders, conducting scoutmaster conferences for rank advancements, delegating responsibilities to assistant scoutmaster and troop committee members, participating in troop meetings, conducting parent sessions and communicating with troop committees and other responsible adults, and building strong scouting programs; and

 

Whereas, Mr. Rudick has been the scoutmaster of Troop 523 in Hartsville since 2017. During his time as scoutmaster, he has camped two hundred sixty-four nights and has taught many new scouts camping skills, including how to tie knots, build a fire, use camping tools, and navigate; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate greatly appreciate the dedication and commitment that Mr. Rudick has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Brian Rudick for his many years of service and leadership as a Scouting of America scoutmaster.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Brian Rudick.
