A house RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR JENNIFER ROBINSON HATHCOCK, DIRECTOR OF MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS FOR HITACHI RAIL IN BATESBURG, FOR HER OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS AND TO WISH HER MUCH CONTINUED SUCCESS IN THE DAYS AHEAD.

Whereas, originally from McComb, Mississippi, and later Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jennifer Robinson Hathcock, director of manufacturing operations for Hitachi Rail in Batesburg, is part of an elite group in her field: She is one of just 6.3% of female plant managers in the United States and, of this number, she is one of only 6.3% who are Black or African American. The fact that so few peers share her experience renders her leadership, resilience, and success even more remarkable, and she continues to pave the way for others while setting a high standard for excellence; and

Whereas, in preparation for her career, Jennifer Hathcock earned a master's degree in engineering and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In addition, she holds various certifications, including Six Sigma Black Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Expert, McKinsey Black Leadership Management Accelerator, and McKinsey Business Strategy and Problem Solving; and

Whereas, over the course of her twenty-year career in manufacturing and design, she has exercised plant management leadership for sites with over five hundred employees and more than $1.9 billion in annual cost of goods sold. Further, she has led strategic activities to quantitatively improve engagement/indexes; handled CapEx management, production line implementations, and productivity savings at multiple sites; grown diverse leaders from underrepresented or overlooked populations to establish both career and generational success; and held varied roles in shop floor management, warehouse management, building and facilities management, maintenance management, and engineering instruction; and

Whereas, Jennifer Hathcock's expertise has brought her respected leadership positions at URS Corporation, UPS, Fontaine Modification, and Schneider Electric, as well as Hitachi Rail. For the future, she has her sights set on global leadership exposure and executive leadership; and

Whereas, away from the office, Jennifer finds relaxation in running, quilting, reading, community service, and novice real estate investing. Down the road, she sees herself growing her real estate portfolio, increasing her understanding of investment diversity, and running a full marathon; and

Whereas, she finds strength for her labors in her family: her husband, Charles Hathcock II; and their four children, Jahlen, Keri, Kori, and Charles III "Trey"; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives takes great pleasure and pride in celebrating the professional accomplishments of Jennifer Hathcock, which have benefited the Palmetto State's economy and helped strengthen local business communities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Jennifer Robinson Hathcock, director of manufacturing operations for Hitachi Rail in Batesburg, for her outstanding achievements and wish her much continued success in the days ahead.
