A house RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF INEZ GINYARD CRUMBLIN OF JENKINSVILLE AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Inez Ginyard Crumblin of Jenkinsville on April 5, 2025, at the venerable age of ninety-one; and

Whereas, born the daughter of John Henry and Frances Jones Ginyard of Jenkinsville, Inez Ginyard Crumblin came into this world on January 8, 1934; and

Whereas, affectionately known as "Nell," Inez grew up in Jenkinsville and graduated from Camp Liberty High School. She continued her education and became a licensed cosmetologist after completing training at Pope Poro Beauty School in Columbia. She was a member of the Women's Home Aide Society #28. Inez worked in Winnsboro before venturing into entrepreneurship and opening Nez's Beauty Salon in Jenkinsville. Nez's Beauty Salon serviced clients from Winnsboro, Ridgeway, Blair, Newberry, Chester, and Columbia for forty-six years; and

Whereas, Inez was a loving and proud mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and godmother, and her daughters, grandchildren, and godchildren were the special loves of her life. Her love for her great-grandchildren was truly a blessing, as well, and they always brought a smile to her face; and

Whereas, this woman of faith found her spiritual home at White Hall AME Church, where she was a longtime faithful member as long as her health permitted. She was committed to Sunday morning worship and loved getting dressed for church and wearing her big Mr. John hats. When her health started to decline and she became unable to drive, Inez did not give a second thought to calling up her church family on Saturday evening to find a ride to church; and

Whereas, preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert F. Crumblin, Inez leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted children, Yulonda Settles of Columbia and Le'Rhonda Crumblin Washington of Charlotte, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Le'Keisha Washington, Kayla Willingham (Javaris), and Kharis Settles; her great-grandchildren, Jordyn Washington and Zoey and Zion Willingham; her godchildren, LaShanda Trapp and Joseph Hughey (Regina); and a host of other dear family members and friends. She will be missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express profound sorrow upon the passing of Inez Ginyard Crumblin of Jenkinsville and extend the deepest sympathy to her family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family.
