A house RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE HONORABLE ROY PIPKIN UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RECENT RETIREMENT AS MAYOR, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED PUBLIC SERVICE TO THE TOWN OF JAMESTOWN AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE DAYS TO COME.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives counts it a privilege to recognize and salute the Honorable Roy Pipkin upon the occasion of his recent retirement as mayor of the charming Town of Jamestown; and

 

Whereas, Mayor Pipkin's record attests to many years of public service, which includes thirty-seven years with the National Guard (his last position being chief of staff), in addition to his twenty-nine years of service on the Jamestown Town Council as mayor. January 6, 2026, marked his official retirement from that honored position; and

 

Whereas, a native of Jamestown with deep roots in the area, Roy Pipkin proudly served as mayor of this vibrant town from 1997 until his retirement, having devoted himself to fostering its growth and development; and

 

Whereas, during his several decades of public service, his commitment to the community shone through in every initiative he supported, as he continually strove to make Jamestown a better place for all its residents; and

 

Whereas, the members of the House are grateful for the passion, dedication, and pursuit of excellence this son of South Carolina has shown in serving the citizens of the Palmetto State, most particularly the people of Jamestown. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Honorable Roy Pipkin upon the occasion of his recent retirement as mayor, commend him for his many years of distinguished public service to the Town of Jamestown and the State of South Carolina, and wish him much happiness and fulfillment in the days to come.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Roy Pipkin.
