A house RESOLUTION
To congratulate the wilson hall boys and girls bowling teams and their coaches on winning the 2025 south carolina independent school association Boys and Girls Bowling STate championships and applaud the teams on their respective outstanding seasons.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to learn that the Wilson Hall boys and girls bowling teams won their respective 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) State Championship titles on February third at Royal Z Lanes in Columbia; and
Whereas, Curtis Helms, head coach for both teams, said he doesn't necessarily look for the best five players, but the five that gel together to create Wilson Hall's two championship-caliber teams. These teams dominated in their bowling matches all season, preparing them to be at the top of their game. This preparation led them to conquer the lanes at the SCISA State Bowling Tournament; and
Whereas, the Wilson Hall boys team, consisting of Luke Banar, Luke Bartlett, Carson Geddings, Maddox Moye, and Stirling Tindal, delivered an outstanding performance to claim the state title. Going back and forth with their Porter Gaud opponents, the Barons were behind by twelve going into the tenth frame. Thankfully, their team was focused and determined to get the win. The last bowler started with a strike followed by a spare, giving the Wilson Hall boys the win with 521 points over Porter Gaud's 518 points; and
Whereas, the five-person girls team, comprised of Anna DuBose, Addie Geddings, Molly Jones, McKenzie Gray Mills, and Camryn Wilmes, showcased their skill and determination to secure the state title. The girls easily swept through the competition, knocking over enough pins to secure first place with 361 points, skillfully besting Thomas Sumter, who finished with 337 points; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives values the pride and recognition that the Wilson Hall boys and girls bowling teams have brought to their school and community. The members look forward to learning about the future accomplishments of these young athletes. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Wilson Hall boys and girls bowling teams and their coaches on winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association Boys and Girls Bowling State Championships and applaud the teams on their respective outstanding seasons.
