A house RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR NEW HOLLAND FIRE CHIEF DENNIS JACKSON UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS CHIEF AFTER NEARLY FOUR DECADES OF DISTINGUISHED CIVIL SERVICE IN THE FIREFIGHTING COMMUNITY.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives has learned that New Holland Fire Chief Dennis Jackson will retire from his post as chief on January 17, 2026. It is with deep gratitude and admiration that we honor him for his remarkable thirty-seven years of civil service in the firefighting community. Dennis has been a steadfast protector, a visionary leader, and a true friend to all who have had the privilege of serving alongside him; and
Whereas, from the very beginning, Dennis has exemplified what it means to serve. His commitment to safeguarding lives and property has never wavered. Known for his friendly nature and unwavering dedication, Dennis has always been willing to assist anyone in need. On a call, his intensity and focus ensure the highest level of service; off the call, his warmth and care make everyone feel like family; and
Whereas, in 2005, Dennis stepped into the role of chief of the New Holland Volunteer Fire Department, leading with passion and purpose. At that time, the department had just two pieces of fire equipment and one firehouse. Today, thanks to Dennis's vision and leadership, the department proudly operates fifteen pieces of rolling equipment and three firehouses, with a fourth currently under construction. This incredible growth is a testament to his tireless efforts and commitment to the community; and
Whereas, Dennis's dedication extends beyond the firehouse. He has always believed that the fire department is a family, welcoming everyone from the youngest to the oldest into business meetings and community events. His protective nature toward firefighters and their families has created a culture of trust, respect, and unity that will endure for generations; and
Whereas, as Dennis transitions from his role as chief to service on the board, the House celebrates not only his professional achievements but also the heart and soul he has poured into the New Holland Volunteer Fire Department. Dennis is a devoted family man whose love and care have extended to his volunteer fire family, shaping the very foundation of who its members are today. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
