A house RESOLUTION
TO CELEBRATE ANNA HEATH RAY, ELLIE WELLS, CARLI WELLS, AND KEELYN DAVIS OF THE RIVER BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SWIM TEAM ON THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES AT THE 2025 AAAAA DIVISION I SOUTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO CONGRATULATE THE SWIMMERS AND THEIR COACHES ON A REMARKABLE SEASON.
Whereas, Friday, October 10, 2025, in the Carolina Natatorium at the University of South Carolina, the River Bluff High School girls swim team competed in the AAAAA Division I SCHSL State Championship. The Gators had an exceptional season this year. Highlighted by their performance on October 10, they had multiple top ten finishes as well as two gold medal finishes with a team relay and an individual first place win, helping the team to finish overall in fifth place with two hundred and thirty-two points; and
Whereas, out of the ten swimmers to take home gold medals in the competition, the River Bluff girls team had four swimmers take home a gold medal. Swimmer Anna Heath Ray captured two gold medals as a state champion in the 100-yard backstroke with a personal best time of 58.2 seconds and as a member of the 200-yard medley relay team. Joining Anna on the gold medal winning 200-yard relay team were swimmers Ellie Wells, Carli Wells, and Keelyn Davis who finished with a time of 1:50.25. This extraordinary show of teamwork and perseverance helped to put the River Bluff Gators in the top five teams in the state; and
Whereas, these individual and relay championships represent the strength and hard work of the Gators and the determination they have exhibited all season long. In a sport that demands mental and physical strength, Head Coaches Annie Mahrer and Meredith Mowles, along with Assistant Coaches Christan Mowles, Matt Mahrer, and Cait McDade, have expertly demonstrated through their own passion for the sport how to maximize their swimmers' skills in and out of the pool to shape well-rounded student athletes. These life lessons and principles will continue to prove invaluable throughout the continuation of their swimming careers and in everyday life; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives value the pride and recognition that Anna Heath Ray, Ellie Wells, Carli Wells, Keelyn Davis and the River Bluff High School girls swim team have brought to their school and community. They look forward to following the swimmers' achievements in the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
