A house RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE DUTCH FORK HIGH SCHOOL DAZZLERS DANCE TEAMS, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO HONOR THEM FOR WINNING THREE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES AT THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE DANCE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP, AMONG OTHER NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to recognize the Dutch Fork High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Dazzlers dance teams for earning state championship titles in varsity hip hop, junior varsity jazz, and junior varsity hip hop at the South Carolina State Dance Team Championship, held on February 21, 2026, at York Preparatory Academy in Rock Hill; and

 

Whereas, throughout an exceptional season, the junior varsity Dazzlers demonstrated outstanding dedication and talent, earning first-place honors in jazz and hip hop at the Clover Competition; first place in jazz and hip hop at the Gator Classic Competition; third place in hip hop and eighth place in jazz at the Dance Team Union National Competition; and ultimately captured state championship titles in both hip hop and jazz; and

 

Whereas, the varsity Dazzlers likewise delivered an impressive season, earning first place in game day and hip hop and second place in jazz at the Clover Competition; third place in jazz at the Gator Classic Competition; seventh place in game day and sixteenth place (finalist) in hip hop at the Dance Team Union National Competition; third place in game day and fifth place in jazz at the State Competition; and secured the Varsity Hip Hop State Championship title; and

 

Whereas, the Dazzlers also successfully hosted the Capital City Dance Team Championship, the largest regional qualifier for the South Carolina Dance Association (SCDA) Dance Team Championship; and

 

Whereas, beyond competition, the Dazzlers contribute meaningfully to their school and community by performing at home football games and basketball halftime events, hosting the annual  "Razzle Dazzle" summer dance camp for children ages three through twelve, and actively participating in numerous academic and extracurricular organizations, including student council, Beta Club, Mock Trial, National Honor Society, National Honor Society for Dance Arts, orchestra, yearbook, and other service and leadership activities; and

 

Whereas, the team members have flourished under the outstanding leadership and guidance of Coach Madeline Thiemann and her dedicated staff; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives commend the Dutch Fork High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Dazzlers dance teams for the pride and distinction they have brought to their school and community and anticipate continued excellence in the years ahead.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate the Dutch Fork High School Dazzlers dance teams, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season and honor them for winning three state championship titles at the South Carolina State Dance Team Championship, among other notable achievements.    

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Reed Gunter and Coach Madeline Thiemann.
