A house RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND PALMETTOPRIDE, THE VOLUNTEERS, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS PARTICIPATING IN OPERATION SUMTER SWEEP FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING EFFORTS TO REDUCE LITTER, BEAUTIFY SUMTER COUNTY, AND PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP IN SOUTH CAROLINA, and to extend sincere appreciation for their efforts to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the State of South CAROLINA.
Whereas, litter and illegal dumping negatively impact South Carolina's natural beauty, public health, and local economies, diminishing the quality of life for residents and visitors alike; and
Whereas, PalmettoPride has long worked in partnership with communities across South Carolina to promote litter prevention, education, and environmental stewardship through statewide initiatives such as South Carolina Sweep; and
Whereas, Operation Sumter Sweep is a coordinated community cleanup initiative designed to mobilize volunteers, local leaders, students, civic organizations, businesses, and residents to remove litter and debris from roadways, neighborhoods, and public spaces throughout Sumter County; and
Whereas, this initiative demonstrates the power of community engagement and civic pride by bringing together citizens of all ages who are committed to protecting the beauty and environmental health of their community while supporting the broader goals of the statewide South Carolina Sweep campaign; and
Whereas, the volunteers and community partners participating in Operation Sumter Sweep dedicate their time, energy, and resources to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors alike, helping to preserve South Carolina's natural resources for future generations; and
Whereas, their efforts not only result in cleaner roadways and public spaces but also raise awareness about the importance of responsible waste disposal, environmental stewardship, and community pride; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives believe it is fitting and proper to recognize organizations and volunteers who work diligently to keep our communities clean, healthy, and beautiful. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend PalmettoPride, the volunteers, and community partners participating in Operation Sumter Sweep for their outstanding efforts to reduce litter, beautify Sumter County, and promote environmental stewardship in South Carolina, and extend sincere appreciation for their efforts to protect and preserve the natural beauty of the State of South Carolina.
