A house RESOLUTION

 

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CIENNA HEISELMAN, A SENIOR AT JAMES F. BYRNES HIGH SCHOOL, FOR A REMARKABLE WRESTLING SEASON AND CAREER AND TO CONGRATULATE HER FOR WINNING THE 2026 SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAAAA INDIVIDUAL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE IN GIRLS WRESTLING.

 

Whereas, the House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Cienna Heiselman of Byrnes High School in Spartanburg captured the state trophy at the Florence Center on February 21, 2026; and

 

Whereas, to the delight of her exuberant fans, Cienna Heiselman defeated a competitive field of opponents to win the state title in the 115-weight class. She finished second in the state championship meet in 2025 and topped off her high school career with a state title in 2026, the first ever for Byrnes High School. A two-time county champion, she qualified three times for the state meet. She compiled a career record of 117-24 and amassed 91 career pins; and

 

Whereas, in a sport that requires mental fortitude and individual excellence, Cienna Heiselman honed her athletic ability and has learned lessons that will prove invaluable through life, both on and off the mats; and

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the pride and recognition that grappler Cienna Heiselman has brought to her school and her community, and the members look forward to following her continued accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Cienna Heiselman, a senior at James F. Byrnes High School for a remarkable season and career and congratulate her for winning the 2026 South Carolina Class AAAAA Individual State Championship title in girls wrestling.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Cienna Heiselman.
