A house RESOLUTION

 

to recognize and honor the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Girls tennis team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and to congratulate them on winning the 2025 South Carolina High School League AAA state championship title.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to hear that the members of the Oceanview Collegiate Academy girls tennis team captured the 2025 South Carolina High School League AAA State Championship on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Cayce Tennis Center; and

 

Whereas, this impressive achievement marks the program's fifth consecutive South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) state championship, firmly establishing the team as a dominant force and true dynasty in high school tennis; and

 

Whereas, in an exciting championship match, the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks secured the title with a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Christ Church, much to the pride and enthusiasm of their supporters; and

 

Whereas, success in the sport of tennis demands discipline, endurance, and mental toughness, all of which were exemplified by the team under the leadership of Head Coach Shawn Harris and his dedicated coaching staff, who have skillfully developed these student athletes both on and off the court; and

 

Whereas, the invaluable lessons of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship instilled in these young athletes will serve them well throughout their lives; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the honor and distinction that the Oceanside Collegiate Academy girls tennis team has brought to its school and community and look forward to its continued success in the years to come.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Oceanside Collegiate Academy girls tennis team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season and congratulate them on winning the 2025 South Carolina High School League AAA State Championship title.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Principal Dr. Kelly Linkenhoker and Head Coach Shawn Harris.
