A senate RESOLUTION

 

to congratulate James Albert Donald of Anderson County on the occasion of his ninetieth birthday and to wish him a joyous birthday celebration and continued health and HAPPINESS in the days ahead.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are proud to honor James Albert Donald in celebration of his remarkable ninetieth birthday on April 19, 2025, recognizing this significant milestone in his life; and

 

Whereas, a native of Anderson County, James Albert Donald was born on April 19, 1935, to the late Wade H. Donald and Ella H. Donald, and is the eldest of his six surviving siblings; and

 

Whereas, James retired from McCall's Glass Company in Greenville, though he remains actively engaged in glasswork and generously volunteers his time for various community services; and

 

Whereas, a devout Christian, Mr. Donald is a dedicated member of New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he faithfully attends Life Study and Sunday services, has served as Deacon for over forty years, and has contributed in numerous ways, including as a former van driver and overseeing the church cemetery. He also assists with church maintenance, such as filling the Baptism pool and installing new windows; and

 

Whereas, James Albert Donald has been happily married to Eunice Cobb for nearly seventy years, and together they have raised five children, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and

 

Whereas, Mr. Donald is widely respected throughout Pelzer and Greenville County for his willingness to lend a helping hand, earning the admiration of all who know him; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to join Mr. Donald's family and friends in celebrating his remarkable ninety years, and to offer our heartfelt congratulations on this momentous occasion.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate James Albert Donald of Anderson County on the occasion of his ninetieth birthday and wish him a joyous birthday celebration and continued health and happiness in the days ahead. 

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to James Albert Donald.
