A house RESOLUTION

 

to recognize and honor the Hammond School boys swim team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season, and to congratulate them on winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association Division I Class 4A State Championship title.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were pleased to hear that the Hammond School boys swim team won the South Carolina Independent School Association Division I Class 4A State Championship title, for the first time in program history, on October 11, 2025, at North Charleston Aquatic Center; and

 

Whereas, the Hammond Skyhawks finished the championship meet with an impressive score of 161 points, besting second place, the Porter-Gaud School Cyclones, by four points; and

 

Whereas, the Skyhawks showcased both their individual talent and impressive teamwork at the championship meet, winning the 200-yard individual medley relay and taking second in the 200-yard freestyle relay. With standout individual performances, Heath Schuch finished second in the 500-yard freestyle and third in the 200-yard freestyle, Alex Magargle took second in the 100-yard backstroke, and Yukai Hu finished third in the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke; and

 

Whereas, drawing on their own experience and passion for the sport, Head Coach Randi Vogel and her talented coaching staff crafted a championship-caliber team and taught these young athletes invaluable life-lessons; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives value the pride and recognition that the Hammond School swimmers have brought to their school and community. They look forward to hearing of the teams continued success in the days to come. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Hammond School boys swim team, coaches, and school officials for an outstanding season, and congratulate them on winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association Division I Class 4A State Championship title.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head of School Andy North and Head Coach Randi Vogel of Hammond School.
