A house RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF LARON BERNARD BROWN OF FLORENCE AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Laron Bernard Brown of Florence on April 2, 2026, at the age of fifty-nine; and

Whereas, born July 19, 1966, Laron Brown came into this world the son of General Langston Brown and Adelaide Brown; and

Whereas, the young Laron graduated from South Florence High School in 1984 and attended Shaw University in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina. In 1993, he earned his bachelor's degree in math from Morris College, also in the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, he was the founder and owner of Brown Enterprise, Brown Construction, 2 Brown Coats, BE Tax Services, and BE Moving and Storage, where he built a successful career; and

Whereas, Laron's kindness, strength, and unwavering love for his family and community will never be forgotten. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or give whatever he could to those in need. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity to all those fortunate enough to have known him; and

Whereas, he leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mrs. Bonnie F. Brown; five children, Laron Brown Jr., Charnelle Brown, Megan Pinckney-Rutherford (Todd), Tyra Brown, and Jamarie L. Brown; seven grandchildren; his siblings, Langston Levern Brown (Faye), Cherylena Brown, Teresa Latice Brown (Darrell), General DeCar Brown (Doris), and Joseph Mack Brown (Tonya); and a host of other family members and friends who will continue to honor his memory and carry forward the love he shared so freely. He will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Laron Bernard Brown of Florence and extend the deepest sympathy to his family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family.
