A house RESOLUTION
To express profound sorrow upon the passing of Tyler Christopher Vaught and to extend the deepest sympathy to his large and loving family and his many friends.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Tyler Christopher Vaught at the age of twenty-one on March 30, 2026; and
Whereas, born on November 30, 2004, in Columbia, Tyler was educated in the Lexington-Richland School District Five system, attending Nursery Road Elementary and Irmo Middle School, before moving to Westwood High School in Blythewood, where he enjoyed playing the saxophone and participating in football and rugby; and
Whereas, known affectionately as "Cowboi T" or "Cowboy," Tyler was admired for his generous spirit and willingness to serve, often lending a helping hand to teachers and staff, assisting custodians, and supporting school projects wherever needed; and
Whereas, his dedication to the Westwood High School football program endured even after his time on the field, as he remained a constant and encouraging presence on the sidelines and in the locker room, offering his time and energy in support of the team; and
Whereas, exemplifying a true servant's heart, Tyler devoted himself to helping others, assisting his mother with senior community events and readily offering aid to neighbors, whether through yard work, home repairs, or countless other acts of kindness; and
Whereas, he possessed a remarkable ability with animals, particularly dogs, demonstrating patience and skill in caring for them and earning their trust with ease; and
Whereas, Tyler was a proud co-owner and operator of Brothers-N-Lawn Landscaping and More, working alongside his brother and business partner, Jeremey, and taking great pride in building something meaningful through hard work and dedication; and
Whereas, an avid outdoorsman, Tyler found great joy in fishing and hunting, and he delighted in sharing that passion with others, often providing equipment and guidance to friends and peers, with one of his most cherished memories being a full day spent fishing with his grandfather; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are deeply grateful for the life and legacy of Tyler Christopher Vaught and for the enduring example of service, compassion, and kindness he set for all who knew him. Tyler made a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of crossing his path, and his memory will be cherished and his absence profoundly felt by his parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and many dear friends. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express profound sorrow upon the passing of Tyler Christopher Vaught and extend the deepest sympathy to his large and loving family and his many friends.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tyler Christopher Vaught.
