A house RESOLUTION

 

to congratulate lee county first steps on its 2026 annual Early learning summit and literacy program Sponsorship gala, to be held on May 7, 2026.

 

Whereas, Lee County First Steps is dedicated to promoting school readiness and advancing early literacy and numeracy for young children while supporting families throughout the local and regional community; and

 

Whereas, on May 7, 2026, Lee County First Steps will host its Annual Celebrating Early Learning Gala, serving as the culminating event of the 2026 Early Learning Summit and Literacy Program sponsorship activities; and

 

Whereas, the gala will highlight the meaningful impact of programs supported by Save the Children and First Steps, including powerful testimonials from participating parents and caregivers; and

 

Whereas, this event will provide a valuable opportunity for community members to engage, connect, and advocate for young children and their families in meaningful ways; and

 

Whereas, the Early Learning Community Initiative will include a summit featuring presentations on the importance of school readiness, literacy, and numeracy, as well as the critical role of parents and caregivers in a child's educational success; and

 

Whereas, the summit will offer access to resources and information through participation by local, regional, and state agencies, equipping families and caregivers with tools to support early childhood development; and

 

Whereas, the gala will serve as the capstone event of the initiative, offering insight into the positive outcomes and transformative impact of these programs on children and families; and

 

Whereas, both the summit and gala are designed to strengthen partnerships, expand Lee County First Steps' early childhood network, and increase community awareness and engagement; and

 

Whereas, these events will enhance access to learning materials and opportunities for children by providing families with tangible resources and support systems; and

 

Whereas, Lee County First Steps recognizes and supports the 2026 Early Learning Community Initiative and Annual Celebrating Early Learning Gala as vital efforts to advance early childhood education and family engagement.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Lee County First Steps on its 2026 Annual Early Learning Summit and Literacy Program Sponsorship Gala, to be held on May 7, 2026. 

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Alexis D. Pipkins Sr., executive director of Lee County First Steps.
