A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO recognize Artie McKnight FOR his SERVICE TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA BOARD OF PHARMACY, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS many YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Artie McKnight for his service as a member of the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy; and

 

Whereas, a resident of Florence, Artie received his Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. Prior to joining McLeod Health, he gained management and pharmacy operations experience in a long-term acute care hospital, contract pharmacy, and the corporate setting; and

 

Whereas, Artie has been active in state and national pharmacy organizations throughout his career. He has served as Region IV Director of the South Carolina Society of Health-System Pharmacists for two terms; and

 

Whereas, Artie has served as the director of pharmacy for McLeod Regional Medical Center since April 2016, where he has been responsible for inpatient pharmacy services for a five hundred bed level two trauma center, two infusion centers, and an RSV clinic; and

 

Whereas, Artie serves on multiple committees at McLeod Regional Medical Center, including the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, the Cancer and Infusion Medication Committee, the 340B Team, and the Pharmacy Standardization Affinity Group. Prior to accepting his current position, he was Pharmacy Business Manager for McLeod Health; and

 

Whereas, Artie has also worked in the IV room, chemotherapy mixing, order entry, OR pharmacy, and decentralized clinical pharmacy; and

 

Whereas, Artie has served on the Board of Pharmacy since June 2019 and will retire in June 2025; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Artie McKnight has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize Artie McKnight for his service to the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy, commend him for his many years of dedicated service, and wish him much happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Artie McKnight.
