A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE dr. deborah davis and dr. isaiah davis UPON the occasion of their RETIREMENTs, TO COMMEND them FOR their thirty YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE, AND TO WISH them MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN THE YEARS AHEAD.

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to recognize Dr. Deborah Davis and Dr. Isaiah Davis upon the occasion of their retirements from their OB-GYN and dental practices, respectively. Dr. Deborah Davis will retire as the Director of Women's Health at Waverly Family Practice on June 27, 2025, and Dr. Isaiah Davis will retire on December 18, 2025; and

 

Whereas, Dr. Deborah Davis is an alumna of Winthrop University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in 1978. Dr. Isaiah Davis is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1978. Both attended the Medical University of South Carolina-Charleston and graduated in 1982; and

 

Whereas, leaders in their professions, Dr. Isaiah Davis and Dr. Deborah Davis have both dedicated thirty years to their respective practices; and

 

Whereas, both doctors have tirelessly served underserved populations, enhancing access to quality healthcare and advocating for health education and community wellness. Their efforts have significantly benefitted their patients; and

 

Whereas, civic leaders, Dr. Isaiah Davis and Dr. Deborah Davis have collaborated with local organizations to address health disparities for those in need; and

 

Whereas, Dr. Isaiah Davis and Dr. Deborah Davis have two children, both of whom continued the family legacy in the medical field. Their daughter, Dr. Melissa A. Davis, is a double board-certified neuro radiologist at Yale University. Their son, Dr. Isaiah Davis Jr., is a practicing general dentist in Columbia; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the passion and dedication that Dr. Deborah Davis and Dr. Isaiah Davis have shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Dr. Deborah Davis and Dr. Isaiah Davis upon the occasion of their retirements, commend them for their thirty years of dedicated service, and wish them much happiness and fulfillment in the years ahead.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Deborah Davis and Dr. Isaiah Davis.
