A senate RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE Academic Magnet High SCHOOL GIRLS Tennis TEAM, COACHES, AND SCHOOL OFFICIALS ON AN OUTSTANDING SEASON AND TO HONOR THEM FOR WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA High School League CLASS aa GIRLS Tennis STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.

 

Whereas, the South Carolina Senate is proud to recognize the Academic Magnet School girls tennis team for winning the South Carolina High School League Class AA girls tennis state championship on November 8, 2025, in Columbia; and

 

Whereas, this historic win marks the program's second state championship in school history; and

 

Whereas, in the championship game, the Academic Magnet High School Lady Raptors defeated the Landrum High School Cardinals by a score of 6-0 to defend their state championship title; and

 

Whereas, with an exceptional season overall, the team had a record of 18-6 going into the championship game; and

 

Whereas, the Academic Magnet High School girls tennis team has flourished under the leadership and guidance of Coach Mark Borst; and

 

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate appreciate the pride and recognition that the Academic Magnet High School girls tennis team has brought to its school and community and look forward to a future filled with further accomplishments by the team and its talented athletes.  Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the Senate:

 

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Academic Magnet High School girls tennis team, coaches, and school officials on an outstanding season and honor them for winning the South Carolina Class AA girls tennis state championship.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Academic Magnet High School girls tennis team, Coach Mark Borst, and Principal Jacob Perlmutter.
