A concurrent RESOLUTION
to recognize and honor the Pinewood Preparatory school girls competition cheer team, coaches, and school officials for an extraordinary season and to congratulate them for winning the 2025 south carolina independent school Association 3A/4A state championship title.
Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly is pleased to learn that on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Heathwood Hall, the Pinewood Preparatory competition cheer team captured the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association 3A/4A State Championship title; and
Whereas, the Pinewood Panthers competition cheer team, determined to take home the coveted crown, left it all on the mat, surpassing the Porter-Gaud Cyclones to capture the state title; and
Whereas, after more than two decades of stability and dominance, the Pinewood program entered a new era this season. Following the retirement of the long-time coaching staff, who led the team to an extraordinary twelve state championships, a new group stepped forward to carry on this remarkable legacy; and
Whereas, Head Coach Veronica Pieretti, a proud Pinewood alumna, assumed leadership of the program alongside assistant coaches Quincey Pinckney and Jesikah Lawrence. Despite the transition, the program did not miss a beat. Under their leadership, the team captured its thirteenth state championship, marking Pinewood's fourth consecutive state title; and
Whereas, this achievement stands as a testament not only to the talent and dedication of the athletes, but also to the seamless transition and strong leadership of the new coaching staff. Coach Pieretti and her team have continued Pinewood's proud tradition of excellence, demonstrating that the program's winning culture remains as strong as ever; and
Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly values the pride and recognition that the Pinewood Preparatory cheerleaders have brought to their school and community, and the members look forward to following their continued achievements in the years to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor the Pinewood Preparatory School girls competition cheer team, coaches and school officials for an extraordinary season and congratulate them for winning the 2025 South Carolina Independent School Association 3A/4A State Championship title.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Pinewood Preparatory's Head of School Dr. Daniel Seiden, Athletic Director Tae Hanna, and Head Coach Veronica Pieretti.
