Summary: Tourist defined pursuant to the accommodations tax; Tourism Expenditure Review Committee membership increased
    A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 6-4-5, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS FOR PURPOSES OF THE USES OF THE STATE TWO PERCENT SALES TAX ON ACCOMMODATIONS, SO AS TO AMEND THE DEFINITION OF "TOURIST" BY DELETING THE REQUIREMENT THAT A PERSON STAY FOR ONE NIGHT OR MORE TO QUALIFY AS A TOURIST; AND TO AMEND SECTION 6-4-35, RELATING TO THE TOURISM EXPENDITURE REVIEW COMMITTEE, SO AS TO INCREASE THE MEMBERSHIP FROM NINE TO ELEVEN, BY ADDING ONE MEMBER ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA ARTS COMMISSION AND ONE MEMBER AT LARGE.
