    A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 59-18-500, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO ACADEMIC PLANS FOR STUDENTS LACKING SKILLS TO PERFORM IN THE CURRENT GRADE LEVEL, SO AS TO REVISE THE MANNER IN WHICH SUCH STUDENTS SHALL BE ASSESSED, TO AUTHORIZE ACADEMIC PROBATIONS FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR, AND TO PROVIDE FOR FURTHER PROCEDURES AND REQUIREMENTS IN REGARD TO THE PROMOTION AND RETENTION OF THESE STUDENTS.
