A Bill to amend Sections 58-3-10, 58-3-20, 58-3-23, and 58-3-30, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the Public Service Commission, so as to reduce the Commission from seven to six members, to provide for the popular election of three members from Public Service Commission Districts each composed of two Congressional Districts who shall serve for terms of eight years and three members elected by the General Assembly from candidates nominated by the Merit Selection Panel who shall serve for terms of four years, and to terminate the terms of Commissioners serving on January 1, 1989, so that they may be succeeded by members elected pursuant to this Act.
