H 2993 General Bill, By Davenport
    A Bill to amend Article 1, Chapter 7 of Title 44, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to hospitals, by adding Section 44-7-80 so as to provide that whenever a hospital or other licensed health care facility discharges a patient and has a third party payor or insurance company who is responsible for a portion or all of the bill, the hospital or facility shall forward a copy of the bill to the patient within fifteen days after his discharge, to provide that the patient is entitled to a period of fifteen days to review the correctness of the bill, and to provide that the insuror or third party payor is not required to begin processing the bill for payment until this thirty-day period has expired.
