A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Article 9 to Chapter 13 of Title 23 so as to authorize the sheriff of any county to contract with any company or organization having management of any residential development to provide law enforcement protection for that development, to provide for the appointment of a deputy sheriff to provide the law enforcement protection, to require that the salary and all expenses of any deputy sheriff appointed be paid by the company or organization, to provide that the term of office of the deputy sheriff shall expire with the term of the sheriff, and to provide for the rights, powers, and duties of the deputy.
