Summary: Transportation Department authorized to erect signs stating penalties with traffic violations are twice as much as provided by law
    A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-5-1040 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION MAY ERECT SIGNS ALONG CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE STATE'S HIGHWAYS THAT INDICATE THAT ALL PENALTIES ASSOCIATED WITH TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS THAT OCCUR ALONG THESE PORTIONS OF HIGHWAY ARE TWICE THE AMOUNT ALLOWED BY LAW.
