    A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 7-19-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE MANNER OF FILLING VACANCIES IN THE OFFICE OF UNITED STATES SENATOR, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE GOVERNOR MAY FILL THE VACANCY BY APPOINTMENT OF A PERSON WHO HAS DECLARED HIMSELF TO BE A MEMBER OF THE SAME POLITICAL PARTY AS THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SENATOR WHO VACATED THE OFFICE, AND DECLARED HIS INTENTION IN SUCH AFFIDAVIT TO SERVE IN THE OFFICE AS A MEMBER OF THAT POLITICAL PARTY.
