Summary: Fatal motor vehicle accidents, chemical tests on drivers and passengers when there are reasonable grounds alcohol is involved
    A BILL TO AMEND CHAPTER 5 OF TITLE 56, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 56-5-2948, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A PERSON WHO DRIVES A MOTOR VEHICLE WHICH IS INVOLVED IN A FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT MUST SUBMIT TO A CHEMICAL TEST OF HIS BREATH FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING THE PRESENCE OF ALCOHOL IF THERE ARE REASONABLE GROUNDS TO BELIEVE THAT THE PERSON IS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL TO THE EXTENT THAT HIS FACULTIES TO DRIVE ARE MATERIALLY AND APPRECIABLY IMPAIRED.
