    A Bill to amend Section 20-7-600, as amended, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to taking a child into custody and notification to his parents and appropriate agencies, so as to provide that when a child is taken into custody for an offense which would be a misdemeanor or felony if committed by an adult, the law enforcement officer also shall notify the principal of the school in which the child is enrolled, if any, of the nature of the offense, and to provide that the principal may use this information for monitoring and supervisory purposes but otherwise must keep this information confidential.
