A Bill to amend Sections 38-59-40, 38-77-580, 38-55-170, 38-77-110, 38-73-735, 38-77-710, 38-77-720, 38-77-730, 38-77-740, 38-77-170, and 38-77-950, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to insurance, 56-1-40, 56-1-180, and 56-9-330, relating to motor vehicles, 37-6-605, relating to the Division of Consumer Advocacy and 38-77-30 and 38-77-280, both as amended, relating to automobile insurance, to add Sections 38-77-135, 38-73-915, 56-5-1525, 38-7-25, 38-77-111, 38-77-161, 38-77-350, 56-1-81, 56-10-243, 38-73-1370, 38-73-1380, 38-73-1400, 38-73-1410, and 38-73-1420, relating to insurance and motor vehicles, and to repeal Sections 38-73-470, 38-77-240, 38-77-250, 38-77-290, 38-77-300, 38-77-310, Subsections (b) and (c) of Section 38-77-260, and Subsection (3) of Section 38-57-130, relating to insurance, so as to reform the automobile insurance laws of South Carolina; to include separate provisions regarding the effective date and rate of the credit allowed by Section 38-7-25 and of the mandated premium rate reductions, providing that no insurer is allowed a credit for any policy premium for which no rate reduction was provided, and providing for certain certification by the Comptroller General to the State Budget and Control Board and the State Insurance Commission; and to amend Section 16-1-10, as amended, relating to crimes classified as felonies, so as to include the crime in Section 38-55-170.
