    A BILL TO AMEND CHAPTER 6, TITLE 23 OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE HIGHWAY PATROL DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY, BY ADDING SECTION 23-6-143, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A COMMISSIONED TROOPER OR OFFICER OF THE DEPARTMENT MAY WEAR HIS UNIFORM AND USE HIS WEAPON WHILE PERFORMING A PRIVATE JOB IN HIS OFF-DUTY HOURS.
