A Bill to amend Sections 38-9-310, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, relating to the offense of knowingly presenting false claims to an insurance company for payment, so as to make it unlawful to knowingly assist or conspire with another to present a false claim to an insurance company for payment and to change the penalty from a fine or imprisonment in the discretion of the court to imprisonment for not more than five years or a fine of not more than five thousand dollars, or both.
