A Bill to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section 8-1-145 so as to provide that an appointed public official whose term of office has expired, who has not been reappointed, and a successor for whom has not been appointed may not continue to serve in that office in a holdover capacity for a period in excess of one year.
