Charleston native Beth Daniel in her career as a professional golfer and wish
her continued success in the future.

A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE THE MANY OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS
OF CHARLESTON NATIVE BETH DANIEL IN HER CAREER AS
A PROFESSIONAL GOLFER AND WISH HER CONTINUED
SUCCESS IN THE FUTURE.
Whereas, in 1990 Charleston native Beth Daniel, who began her
professional golf career in 1979, was named player of the year for the
second time in her career; and
Whereas, Beth Daniel was named Associated Press' Female Athlete of
the Year and Associated Press' Female Golfer of the Year for 1990; and
Whereas, Beth Daniel, a former Furman University golfer, was also
named United Press International's Female Athlete of the Year for 1990;
and
Whereas, in 1990 Beth Daniel won seven tournaments, including her
first major championship, setting a Ladies Professional Golf Association
record for her 1990 earnings; and
Whereas, in 1990 Beth Daniel for the second straight year led the Ladies
Professional Golf Association in scoring, thereby winning the Vare
Trophy with a low stroke average of 70.54; and
Whereas, Beth Daniel currently has twenty-five career victories and
ranks fourth on the all-time Ladies Professional Golf Association career
earnings list. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly recognize the many
outstanding accomplishments of Charleston native Beth Daniel and wish
her continued success in the future.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Beth
Daniel.
