C.H. Stone
A Concurrent Resolution to extend the sympathy of the members of the General
Assembly to the friends and family of Carrol H. Warner of Aiken County, who
died Saturday, February 5, 1994.
02/09/94 House Introduced, adopted, sent to Senate HJ-26
02/10/94 Senate Introduced, adopted, returned with concurrence SJ-11
A CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
TO EXTEND THE SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF
CARROL H. WARNER OF AIKEN COUNTY, WHO DIED
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 1994.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were saddened to learn
of the death of Carrol H. Warner, Chairman of the Aiken County
Council;
Whereas, Mr. Warner had served on the Aiken County Council for the
past seventeen years and as Chairman for the past sixteen years, easily
winning re-election last April; and
Whereas, Carrol Warner was a servant of the people, treated citizens
well at Aiken County Council meetings, and always let them speak their
mind even when they were criticizing him and county government; and
Whereas, Chairman Warner was a leader of the county council and
county during three years of self-imposed austerity, which resulted in
Standard and Poore's announcement that because of the county's
diligence in working out of its debt it would restore the most favorable
rating A to the county debt service portfolio; and
Whereas, Mr. Warner was a native of Aiken County, educated in the
Wagener public schools, and was a graduate of Clemson University; and
Whereas, Carrol Warner was an Air Force veteran of the Korean
conflict; and
Whereas, Mr. Warner was a farmer and businessman, married to the
former Judith Van Buren and they have four children, Bryan, Joey,
Angie, and Kevin; and
Whereas, it is unlikely that no member of the Aiken County Council has
ever been as well versed as Chairman Warner about the workings of the
county's major governmental body and was so knowledgeable of the
local government's history. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly extend their sympathy to the
friends and family of Carrol H. Warner, of Aiken County, who died
Saturday, February 5, 1994.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his
family.
